Reflection by: Mal Burke
"Washed by the Water" NEEDTOBREATHEWhile listening to the song lyrics, think about a rough time you endured. Who helped you through your rough patch? Who wiped your face, your tears, your hardships away? Pray for those people while listening and reflecting.
"Even when the rain falls, even when the flood starts rising, 'cause even when the storm comes, I am washed by the water.” Jesus’ unconditional love for each of us allows Him to be with us all the time, even if we feel alone during quarantine. It can be easy to sink into sadness and loneliness; when this happens, turn to prayer, turn to Jesus. He loves our presence, loves our prayers, and most importantly, He loves us. When listening to the song, imagine Jesus saying this next verse to you: “Even if the Earth crumbles under my feet, even if the ones I love turn around and crucify me, I won't never ever let you down I won't fall, I won't fall, I won't fall as long as you're around me.” Although we cannot physically extend our hands to others during quarantine, let us follow in Veronica’s footsteps by helping one another. Extend a “hand” by calling up an old friend, sending a letter to a relative, and spreading positivity on social media. |
“God is not unjust; He will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped His people and continue to help them.” |
